I feel so ashamed.
Well I started playing tonight thinking I was going to breeze right through the first couple of levels. I thought it was going to be a piece of cake and I was going to remember everything.
Here's what I remembered:
- You have to have a guard follow you to give you access to get down to the test chamber.
- You have to push the little robot man into the middle of the thing going on in the middle of the test chamber to cause whatever to happen to happen
- You don't lose any health during the explosion in the test chamber.
- When leaving the test chamber you have to have a scientist use the retinal scanner to let you out.
Things I didn't remember trying to play tonight:
- How to get the crowbar. I got owned by my first head crab and felt stupid about it.

This does not look good.

Remember you don't have to fight/kill everything you see!
Still, the crowbar will be useful. Fortunately, it'll be pretty much in your path right before something that requires a crowbar. But yeah, peter gives wise advice -- you don't need to fight/kill everything. You're a scientist, remember? The game is about you becoming a bad-ass, not necessarily starting out as one, and even then... :)
Even if you start over a third time....I'll keep readin' if you aren't cheatin' :)
I think it's great you've decided to go back and "do it right" as it were.
I really hope you've invested in some headphones at least. Audio makes it so much better.
Also, I really like reading about your insight into your experience, as opposed to retelling the story. Akin to when teachers would dock marks for doing that instead of whatever it was they wanted. :p
Sure, this is a little different, but the explanation of your thought process is much more interesting than the story retold.

hey man, good to see you're fully back in action here. Remember, you don't get the crowbar until AFTER the first headcrab - just run from his ass and the crowbar will be in the next room :)
